Operation Blunt Blade VIII
OPORD

1. SITUATION
Due to recent events, including the discovery of large weapon caches in Sangin District and large scale skirmishes in neighbouring districts and regions, local TFOR commanders have deemed it necessary to reinforce ACOY in Sangin capital district as well as set the stage for a more aggressive strategy against the TAKIBAN. ACOY will be relieved from FOB ALAMO by B and CCOY whilst the patrol bases established throughout the campaign will be taken over by elements BCOY 2 and 3PLT.

ACOY is tasked with advancing on known TAKIBAN strongholds in the region, seeking out weapons and INTEL for further decisive action against the TAKIBAN.

The attack against MALADOOST will be done at night to give ACOY the greatest advantage.

2. ORDERS

ACOY will REORG at PB YORKSHIRE with S/1/2 holding position

A. Enemy Forces

TAKIBAN militia / guerrillas - Armed with small arms, heavy mounted weapons (HMGs, ZU23s) and expected light vehicles such as early BTRs, BRDMs and technicals. INTEL also suggests that TAKIBAN have been supplied light and medium armour by an unknown source - American forces in CLAFGHAN district were unprepared to face an armoured force containing T55s and T34s.

B. Friendly Forces

Ground Elements:
1x Parachute Infantry Company
A COY 1FSG
